I am using this space to make a virtual allotment out of 'plants' found from a jobsite and 'water' from the BBC. Each list is a raised bed planted with what is on the list title(eg. Herbs, Vegetables, Trees). Just as plants renew themselves, the contents of the lists are dynamic and will change as new items appear from the data sources. read more about mashups here.
How to use

Just reading your blog, I've realised just how "ungreen" (brown?) most offices are in Australia. It's not common to find pot plants on desks at work. Most have, at some stage attempted to partake in this tricky concept but very very few have had any success. Due to it's very low success rate, much like the (previous) Howard and (current) Rudd Govts attempts to fix our health care problems, the general swivel chair population has pretty much settled for a nice desk organiser instead.
I too, am one of those who have had a brief dalliance with the "pot plant on desk" concept, resulting in a very brown and crusty cactus, which resembled a staked vampire and an air plant which found a more fulfilling career as a shuttlecock. I must admit, my air plant was much happier wizzing through the air over the partitions of our oh so cosy cube farm. Such joy it gave us.
Those days are now long gone, I have matured as person and am using my power for good. Hence, my own Koi Pond on my desk, in the form of a fantastic App on my Iphone. No more watering or feeding. Ah Bliss.
